2020

COVID. The End…just kidding!

Feb 2020 – took possession of our dream shop in the countryside of Essa. Spent the year transitioning, building work flow spaces, updating websites and improving our product/expanding our product line.

November 2020 – broke ground on our new secondary shop building. Zero artisan shows attended.

2019

Embarked on a total of 28 Ontario Artisan Shows from Windsor to Muskoka to Ottawa and everywhere in between including the Toronto One of a Kind Show (IYKYK).
November 2019 – launched our Etsy shop.

2018

First full year committed to clock making and shows, with the commitment of Les, Daniel and Victoria full time.

Attended a total of 22 Ontario Artisan Shows! Expanded into the basement and family room.

2017

March 2017 – Debuted our clock design at the Spring Cottage Life Show in Toronto (and sold out!). Decided that we would rebrand with a new logo and focus our business strictly on our live edge wood clock design. Daniel joined the family business. Embarked on the Ontario artisan show circuit and attended a total of 10 shows.

Oct 2017 – launched our web shop and received our first online order!

Nov 2017 - Expanded the home garage to include a shipping container/shed.

2016

Les Started producing live edge wood and metal furniture and home décor from his home garage as a hobby. He was featured in Goodlife Magazine, gracing the cover page!

We began showcasing his furniture at a few local farmer/artisan markets. Les made his first live edge wood clock using a metal barrel ring as the hoop. Victoria joined Les on the adventure.

We officially branded the company as Generational Design Works to portray the longevity and quality of the furniture being produced, as well as the generations of family involvement in the business.
